The Second National Convention of the Socialistic Labor Party is held in Allegheny City. The twenty-five assembled delegates nominate Albert Parsons, who declines, (as he is younger than the Constitution requires.) Parsons is later hanged for his involvement in The Haymarket Affair in Chicago in 1887.
