Revolutionary War hero, The Marquis de Lafayette, toured all 24 of the United States when he returned in 1824-25. On May 31st, 1825, he visited his old friend, Anica Preble Barlow at the Barlow House here in Alleghenytown for what was perhaps the biggest party on the North Side up until the Immaculate Reception.
